UK In Kuwait
UK In Kuwait
2024 - Kuwait City, In collaboration with Yousef Saleh
The artwork celebrates the connection between the UK and Kuwait, featuring the migratory hoopoe bird — a species culturally significant in Islam, while also occasionally spotted in the UK during migration. Inspired by the British Embassy’s garden, the design incorporates native flowers from each country and floating pearls as a nod to Kuwait’s pearl diving history, beautifully unified through Yousef’s traditional calligraphy style.
NCCAL:
The reveal of our first cultural exchange program mural under the Al-Fenn Al-Thalith: The National Project for Mural Arts banner. The Hoopoe Mural breathes colorful life into the Gold Souq of Al Mubarakiya market through the collaborative efforts of two talented artists: @_peachzz_ an artist from Sheffield, UK, who specializes in vivid nature and wildlife murals veering towards realism in style, and @joegraffi , a Kuwaiti artist who’s made a name for himself locally with his captivating “calligraffiti” style and Arabic typography.
