This wall is inspired by the parakeets that currently reside in Manchester. There are theories and urban myths of how parakeets made it into the wild, including a theory that blames Jimmy Hendrix for releasing them or that the birds escaped from a film set in the 1950s.
Although parakeets are a marmite subject they have no significant impact currently to the UK wildlife they are here to stay after being here over 50 plus and have been sighted as early as the late 1800s.
This piece is painted on a pub owned by the oldest running Publican in the UK.
